Statewide Classified Advertising Network (SCAN)
SCAN enables you to reach more than 1 million readers in the state by placing your classified advertisement through the New Jersey Press Association (NJPA) in 98 New Jersey daily and weekly newspapers.

We guarantee your ad will run in at least 90 percent of New Jersey newspapers. The ads run once during the "week of" in the daily newspapers and on the day of publication for the weekly newspapers.

NJPA will process your ad and send it to the participating newspapers. You can submit your ad using our placement form.

Rates
The rate is $560 for a 25-word classified advertisement. Each additional word is $14. Phone numbers, including area codes, are counted as only one word. Hyphenated words are counted as two words.

 "SHORT SCAN"  The rate is $430 for a 15-word classified advertisement.  Each additional word is $14. Phone numbers, including area codes, are counted as only one word. Hyphenated words are counted as two words.

Payment in advance is required. You can use VISA, American Express or MasterCard for ads submitted online or by mail. A certified check or money order also is acceptable for orders place by mail.

Frequency Discount
Place an ad to run for four consecutive weeks and received a fifth week free.

Deadlines
Copy and payment must be received by noon on the Wednesday prior to the publication week.

Restrictions
  • NJPA reserves the right to edit all copy submitted and reject anything that is not in compliance with state or federal regulations, in poor taste, offensive, false, misleading or deceptive.
  • Employment advertising must be for a bona fide job offering and must state the nature of the work offered.
  • Ads that actually sell directories, job listings or instruction books must state in the text what the customers will be receiving and that a fee is involved.
  • A letter must accompany adoption advertisements from an attorney attesting to the legality of the proposed adoption.
  • The number of participating newspapers is subject to change weekly.
